Occupancy at Beirut hotels at 69% in first 9 months of 2009

Deloitte & Touche's survey of hotel performance in the Middle East indicated that occupancy rates at Beirut hotels reached 69% in the first 9 months of 2009.
Byblos Bank s Lebanon This Week reported that Deloitte & Touche's survey of hotel performance in the Middle East indicated that occupancy rates at Beirut hotels reached 69% in the first 9 months of 2009, up 41% compared to the same period last year. The occupancy rate at Middle East hotels reached 60.9% in the first 9 months of 2009, down 11% compared to the first 9 months of 2008. Further, revenues per available room (RevPAR) in Beirut increased by 82% to $146.7 in the first 9 months of 2009, while RevPAR at hotels in the Middle East decreased by 18% to $119.4 year-to-September.
