These estimates aim at giving an idea about the various activities of the City Centre, but these figures may change on the long term depending on demand. At the beginning of 2008, more than a half of the building space was achieved or is under development. And most of the projects are the work of private companies, with predominant Arab Gulf investors. The law on foreign ownership of land gives them the right to hold up to 3% of the area of each caza, but 10% in Beirut. In late 2007, the proportion was nearly 5%.
