BEIRUT - French Prime Minister François Fillon announced yesterday his visit to Lebanon this autumn, along with French CEOs in an economic trip. “I will be on the ground, in Beirut, this autumn along with a very important delegation of French CEOs to contribute to the economic revival of the country”, declared Mr. Fillon in the 16th French Ambassadors’ Conference held in Matignon.
Fillon also estimated that in Lebanon, France has “exhorted, without exclusivities or preferences, all the parties to hinder a crisis which would have resulted in a new armed confrontation”.
He also urged the French diplomats to defend the French “economic interests”.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy visited Beirut at the beginning of June.
