Lebanon a host in a French film festival

Lebanon fell as a guest in the 31st Douarnenez film festival in the city Brittani looking out the Atlantic ocean in the north west of France starting yesterday.

During the film festival more than 70 Lebanese cinema documentary and short movies will be displayed where they are produced in or near Lebanon. The festival will be taking place starting Monday 10th till the 23rd of August where the movie pictures will be displayed for the local French audience to take a look at the reality of the Lebanese society. The shows will be followed by dialogue sessions to discuss all aspects of the Lebanese life in the presence of many cultural Lebanese figures from Lebanon, such as the writers Ahmad Baydoun, Abbas Baydoun and Najwa Barakat. The festival will exhibit work for Jocelyn Saab, Ziad Shahal, Daniel Arbid, Nadine Labaki, Rania Ostfan, Mirna Maacaroun, Birhan Alawiya, Bahij Hjeij, Samir Habshi, Michel Kammoun, Wajdi Mouawad and many more.

Along these motion pictures, movies directed by young Lebanese and Palestinian directors since the 70’s in Lebanon will be shown in addition to the Israeli directed movie Ari Foulman “Valse with Bachir”.
