2nd edition of “Venezia Cinema Beirut" to take place on May 7-11

The Italian Cultural Institute and the Metropolis Association in Lebanon in partnership with the Venice Biennale are proud to present the second edition of “Venezia Cinema Beirut”. This event will present a broad selection of recent and classic films that were screened during the 71st edition of the Venice Biennale.

It will feature a rich programme of Italian films screened for the first time Lebanon from the 7th to the 11th of May at Metropolis Empire Sofil.

This new edition will open with “Il Giovane Favoloso (Leopardi)” a film about love, poetry and adventure. It won the Pasinetti Prize for Best Actor.

Also in the programme, “Hungry Hearts” which won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor and Best Actress, “Anime Nere” which received the Pasinetti prize for Best Film and “La Zuppa del Demonio” a historical, political and sociological documentary.

Classic film “Una Giornata Particolare” starring Sophia Lauren and Marcello Mastroianni will be closing the festival.
