“Urban Landscapes”, a photo exhibition by the laureate of the Byblos Bank Award for Photography 2012, Dory Younes, is held from April 16 to 21 at the Byblos Bank's headquarters in Ashrafieh. In this exhibition, which is curated by Beirut Art Fair, 21 photographs featuring a new artistic expression of urban life will be displayed.
Nada Tawil, Head of Group Communication Department at Byblos Bank said: “Byblos Bank is committed to support young Lebanese artists and to give exposure to rising photographers. Following his win, Dory Younes went into a personalized mentoring program funded by the Bank to help him prepare for his first exhibition. As part of its commitment, Byblos Bank will exhibit this fresh work in order to help Dory launch his career as a photographer.”

Pascale Odille, Artistic Director of Beirut Art Fair, said: « The aesthetics of the pictures are not of primary importance. What matters is how they can impact the human senses and how easily one can interpret them.”

For his part, Dory Younes said: “My experience throughout the Byblos Bank Award competition was very rewarding as the Bank gave me the opportunity to improve my work and boost my career in photography. Competitions as such help indeed spark and revive creativity among young artists.

The exhibition will be an opportunity to launch the call for applications for the Byblos Bank Award for Photography 2013, which will take place within the Beirut Art Fair, from 19 till 22 September 2013.
